Human Resource Management is the key to the success of a company. This is accomplished by keeping in connection with the organization's objectives and business strategies. As a Human Resource Manager, it is my job to maintain a healthy work environment between company policies and individuals, and as a Christian demonstrate good values. In my opinion, it is equally important to focus on integrity and allow people to be themselves. Another good point that relates to human resource management is securing, maintaining, and utilizing an effective work force, which organizations cannot survive without.
As an office manager, I play the role of a mentor…caring for her employees and their families. I think it is a good practice for management to have a good working relationship between herself and her employees. It is the manager’s job to encourage, build, and motivate.
Today's manager must have a good understanding of individual differences. Physically all humans are created in the same way and appear to be similar on the exterior. However differences do exist between all individuals. If in differences did not exist then it would be possible to treat all employees in the same manner and know how they would react and respond to problems. Everyone would be like robots not having ideas of their own. Clearly this is not the case. Thus individuals need to be treated differently in order to get the very best out of them and I feel that it is my responsibility to accomplish that task. It is important for me as a manager to recognize individual potential and tie together talent to achieve organizational goals.
In closing, I think it is every manager’s job to follow the basic functions of management such as planning, organizing, staffing, leading, and controlling. These represent what is often called the management process and it is a good tool to use in setting up a positive work environment.
