Human resource management is vital to any organization and can help in achieving company goals and increase productivity. Human resource management reaches far beyond administrational tasks for the organization. The primary responsibilities of human resource management are transactional, tactical, and strategic. The main purpose of human resource management is to establish and maintain an informed employee base that follows the strategic plan of the company.

The transactional responsibility of human resource management is the most associated with the position. Human resource management is a division within a company that controls the recruitment and training process of employees. Human resource management also oversees the health and wellness of employees. Motivating the workforce is another primary function of human resource management. Human resource management controls the administrative aspect of the company in regards to the employees hiring, benefits, counseling, safety and organizational development.

Human resource management ensures the employees meet the company’s standards while the company adheres to labor and employment laws. Human resource management ensures that the company is following safety standards and complying with regulations. Human resource management ensures safe working conditions to maintain the productivity of the employees and profitability of the company.

The tactical responsibility of human resource management addresses issues of employee group conflict and performance. Human resource management resolves conflict and creates solutions to overcome issues that could affect the efficiency and productivity of the department.

The strategic responsibility of human resource management benefits the company by aligning services to the long-term goals of the company. The strategic responsibility allows human resources to assist executive level management in determining where the company currently stands, helps determine future goals, establish a plan to achieve those goals, and following up on the progress of reaching those goals. With different areas of the management staff working together to determine future goals, the company can reduce wasted expenses and provide a clear direction of the future.
