ETHICS IN JAPAN
Before attempting to summarize Japanese Work Ethic, I will state the following. It should be noted that this is a Strengths and Weaknesses section, which means that the views presented here will be analyzed as strength, weakness, or perhaps both.
When one thinks of hard working, dedicated, and loyal individuals, who care about their job so much that they go to great extends to improve their business, Japanese comes first to mind.
One of the unique aspects of the Japanese work ethic is the notion of loyalty to a company.
It is common in Japan to sign on with a company and stay with the same company until retirement. "Jumping" to another company for more money is often considered an irresponsible and selfish action to take.
An employee word means everything, regardless to position from top management to the smallest worker in the building. When he/she signs a deal with a handshake, it is expected to hold true to the word given. Doing otherwise might severely damage the reputation in business environments.
Japanese don’t simply work for money, they work for Social reasons, and work is a duty they must perform without hesitation. They work with punctuality, focus and commitment to work Spirit for Team Work
Complaining and work ethic do not get well together in Japan. It will undermine your success more than anything else. Therefore they avoid complaining no matter what.
