Introduction

In today times, the world has become a global village where people across the nations have crossed their boundaries to come in contact with each other. Nationals across the countries today have various business transactions among them. This has resulted in different cultures are coming in contact with each other. This situation holds implication for the leaders. The leaders should understand and adapt to various cultures in order to attain success (Brooks, 2006). In this paper a business situation is discussed where culture becomes important in determining the leadership of the negotiation team.

Understanding & true or not

It is true that women in Saudi Arabia are not allowed to drive on the context driving requires face to be uncovered which is not allowed for women there. But this scenario is fast changing. The women are allowed to work under certain conditions. According to the official figures women are working successfully as deans of colleges & universities, CEOs of banks, IT experts and various other profession. Today a lot of Saudi women are asking for their rights. The women of Saudi Arabia hold various positions in decision making bodies like The Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, The Saudi Council of Engineers, The Saudi Management Society and the Saudi Lawyer's Association and various government offices (Aziz, 2007).There has been a shift of thinking although the legal laws forbid more liberalization for women.

Purpose of the negotiation & affect your choice of negotiators

The purpose of this negotiation is to clinch a deal with a potential client who is a Saudi Arabian. The client’s nationality is the factor that is going to affect the choice of negotiators. The best negotiator of the company who is experienced and has successfully held negotiation for various deals is a woman. The culture of Saudi Arabia is totally different from USA where woman are not allowed to actively participate in business. The chances of the failure of negotiation increases in case the company sends their best negotiator. The second option in front of the company is of a male who is second in command to this lady but he is young and needs to work on his skills.

Who will you send & why

The two choices in front of the company is to send either their best and by far more experienced female negotiator or her second in command male negotiator who is relatively inexperienced. According to my opinion the company should
