1. Planning Stage

1.1 Idea brainstorming and addressing the event progress:

The event planning start from our first meeting on 11 October 2011, brainstorming discussion begins to choose for a suitable event objective for our event planning assignment. We come out with an idea about ‘hugs’ and totally agreed that “hugs” is an action that can show the message of care and love into relationship for the society. Beside, in our country Malaysia cultural ‘hugging someone’ is not a familiar or common thing happen among friend or family, some of them even feel embarrass to do so.

“RM 1 for 1 Hug “is the first plan in our brainstorming session to delivery message to society. The “RM1 for 1 Hug “idea event is a charity event that not only offering RM1 for 1 hug to strangers around Penang, but RM1 will be hand it to non-profit organization as a donation fund .But when we move to the analysis staged, we found out the difficulties to get budget sponsorship and transportation, so the planning starts to narrow down the scope to only organize the “Free Hugs” event in SEGI College Penang.

1.2 Objective:

The main objective of “Free Hugs” event is to offer free hugs to strangers in public setting and delivers a message that hugs a person is not an embarrassing action or an action to begin negative relationships, but a positive behavior of showing care and loves to make others feel better and the heart feel warmer.
