Plan of action:-
UID was made on the line of SSN used in USA, to give people more freedom and more usage of government policies. The mission was good but not successful due to improper communication channels followed which led to loss of the message and resulted in unwanted noise.
The UID scheme should be revoked with more partnerships with PAN card, Driving license and Passport so as to integrate all the information of a person in a single ID card. In the next phase after receiving all the information, UID number could be used instead of making driving license, PAN card etc.
This would create the holistic environment with which a person will be tracked with just one number which will be his identity. This would result in direct reach of governmental agencies to the people, keeping track of his income, family size, social status would enable him to take benefit of all government policies.
Also while revoking it there are next steps of linking it online to all the information possible not only just bank account, but also this number should be asked everywhere while filling up the application forms Enabling a strong database of every individual.
In order to use it like US’ SSN phase wise integration should be laid with eliminating of certain ID cards so that people will forcibly use UID. Making it compulsory and employing more people into this scheme seems like an extra cost but in the longer run the cut downs from certain departments will provide enough profits to the government.
