Introduction
Overview of Malaysian Cement Industry
The steady growth of the cement industry in Malaysia saw the need for an Association to look after its interests. In 1965, the Cement and Concrete Association (C&CA) of Malaysia came into being with 3 founding members i.e. Associated Pan Malaysia Cement, Malaya Industrial and Mining Corporation Berhad (MIMCO) and Tasek Cement Berhad. It is now a 15 members strong Association with the same objectives as it had, during its inception.
The Principle Objectives of C&CA are:
To work with the Government in the formulation of policies for the development of the cement industry.
To serve as a channel of communication with the Government and relevant organizations.
To monitor and analyze issues pertaining to the industry's development and resolve problems faced.
To conduct research and training programs to improve manufacturing processes, cement standards and develop human resources.
To promote cement and concrete usage.
To establish links with cement related organizations nationally and internationally to foster information exchange and closer economic cooperation.
To originate and publish literature and information on subjects related to cement and concrete.
To support and organize conferences, and workshops contributing to the advancement of the cement and concrete industry and enhancement of technological skills.
To promote quality of cement and concrete.
To have a Secretariat that provides the support services for the activities of the Association to achieve its objectives.
As Malaysia has a good business outcome on the cement industries thus for the assignment two cement companies has been chosen namely
