Introduction: Karl Storz Endoscopy
Karl Storz Endoscopy (KSE) is a privately held, family owned medical device company that was founded in 1945, by Karl Storz. With a key focus on endoscopic equipment for medical practitioners (human and veterinary) and industrial application. Since establishment, KSE has been involved in pioneering major breakthroughs in the endoscopic equipment range. KSE has research and manufacturing facilities in Europe and the United States. The company manufactures and distributes through a network of subsidiaries and distribution agents in Europe, Americas, Africa and Asia Pacific with the headquarters located in Tuttlingen, Germany. After Karl Storz passing in 1996, at the age of 85 the management of the company was handed over to his daughter, Sybill Storz who currently maintains control of the company (Karl Storz Endoscopy, n.d.).
