EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Matthew Inc. has had a substantial decrease in revenue, which has led to this report on whether we should install electronic auditing procedures to monitor computer use of employees. The purpose of the report are (1) to determine the advantages and the disadvantages about monitoring at work and (2) to examine the computer monitoring, its' purpose and its' legality also reasons why other companies using this system.
Computer monitoring has been there since the existing of technology. Employers monitored their employees to avoid any issue or conflict from rising, and to increase their productivity. Computer monitoring system can be divided into 2 systems: Passive monitoring system and active monitoring system. The monitoring process provides the owners with the ability to control, the power to manage, and the knowledge to minimize cost of the labor. Employers have the right to know what their employees are doing during working hours. Employers should integrate computer monitoring in order to have control over their liabilities. There are many companies who have installed computer monitoring, that helped them discover incidents that took place in the workplace that resulted in them firing their employees. Monitoring workers can cause increased level of stress to the workers.
