Maybank or more formally known as Malayan Banking Berhad is the largest bank and financial group in Malaysia. The company holds a number of subsidiaries that deals in the different financial sectors within local as well as international financial markets. The established since 1960 financial institution offers full range of commercials, corporate and private banking services that meets the requirements of all. Services offered include conventional banking, Islamic banking, investment banking, wealth management and also insurance services. The services provided by Maybank are strengthened by the initiation of different subsidiaries under the holding organization. Group’s subsidiaries noted for its accomplishments and achievements include eTiQa, Aseam Credit, Aseamlease, Aseam Unit Trust, Aseambankers Malaysia Bhd, Maybank International Trust, Maybank Discount, Maybank Investment Management and Maybank Securities. In order to efficiently and effectively provide its diverse services to its clients, Maybank has a network of more than 450 branch offices and offers more than 2500 ATM services within its home country.
Notably also, throughout the last decade or more, Maybank as a group has built up a strong position in the regional market. To say the least, its international business expansion has been quite remarkable. Currently, the company operates more than 20 branches in Singapore and the Philippines and with strong banking presence in most of the other Southeast Asian markets, including Brunei, Papua New Guinea, Indonesia, and Vietnam. The bank also operates branches in New York and London. Maybank was the first Malaysian bank granted the right to establish a branch office in China, a particularly important market given the large and economically powerful ethnic Chinese population in Malaysia.
