        The business focuses on selling, marketing, and distributing food products to healthcare industries, restaurants, hotels, and educational centers. Our food products would meet the following criteria:

  • Fresh products- As customers eat fresh, the company will provide ‘ready-to-eat’ and fresh products. This will also include bakery, dairy, meat, and prepared foods.
  • Quality and variety – We will be sourcing the highest quality of fresh products. The products will curate the right assortment of everyday with unique and seasonal products. We will also deliver organic and specialty groceries in order to provide a complete shopping experience for our customers

        The company would be a for-profit organization.

Reasons for getting into this Business:

Following are the motivational factors for getting into this business:

  • Role of the distributors – Although the distributors play an intermediate role of buying and selling products that they have taken ownership of, they get to make profits with minimum risk involved. This also includes buying products and selling them as your own product, working as a business- to- business entity, which also gives job satisfaction.
  • Sales of the business – Since the products vary within a wide range and since distribution of products takes place after valid analysis of the demand from customers, such a business makes very high sales. Statistics also show that distributors’ industry gross domestic product (GDP) has remained steady at 7% for quite some time (Entrepreneur, 2016).
  • Operational Costs – Such a business would have the fundamental costs of office/ warehouse expense, telephone, internet, and the charges of working with shipping companies. These costs however need not have to expensive and of a higher standard.
  • Giving back to the community – Since the business is not just commercial, unlike some businesses that cater to entertainment and other fields, such a business acts a service towards its customers, giving a sense of being available to the community and meeting their basic needs.

Future of the business:

        The future trends indicate that there has been and will be steady increase in the growth of the industry as there has been a steady increase in the consumers demand for food products, requiring food to be shipped over long distances. Statistics show that there has been more than 31% increase in the demand, leading to a gross profit increase of 35% for the food distribution industry (Singleton, 2016). Although there is growing competition in this business, if the company focuses on its vision and mission, and works towards achieving its goals, this business should benefit the profits it projects.
