Introduction
The purpose of this report is to analyse the emerging trends in online businesses and the various options available for new entrants such as Eye of the Jewel. E-commerce refers to directing business transactions over the Internet, which contains exchange of information of value in the form of products and services as well as payments, using web-based technologies (Gomolski, 2001). This report will provide an insight about what kind of businesses are available online and how Eye of the Jewel can penetrate an online market to achieve success.
With the growing trends of social media and Internet marketing, most companies now realise that the Internet is the ideal communication medium for interacting with a wide variety of stakeholders (Wentz, 2002) . The Internet has an wide range of technologies that can provide a strong marketing strategy (Wentz, 2002), this report will help Eye of the Jewel identify new techniques to break down the targeted audience, to reach potential new customers and stakeholders, and to measure the efficiency of implemented strategies.
