Using Strengths to Increase Motivation
When I took the PsyCap self-assessment, I scored moderate in all four categories. Little did I know that this test was related to work. I was able to do some further research and found out that you are scored in four different categories. The four categories include: Efficacy, Hope, Optimistic, and Resilience. Each of these categories will be discussed in more detail later. I will also give examples of how they pertain to my work and how they can advance my career.

After taking the test, I would have to agree with my assessment. I feel confident in all four categories, but I know that there is always room for improvement. All four stages have room for you to develop. I would consider myself an optimistic person. When I am at work and we run into a problem, I am always looking at the positive outcomes. I look for a way to still get our rate per hour by motivating my employees. I do not let them get down on themselves. Instead, I let them know that we can make up the difference if we give it all we have. Whenever someone is having a bad day, I try to make them laugh and shake off whatever is bothering them. Sometimes it just takes one person to get them out of their own head.
When it comes to efficiency, I am always looking at different ways to reduce time, manpower, and costs. My brain is always looking into different ways that the company can reduce costs by getting rid of wastes. I recently turned in a bright idea for eliminating the length of our wire harness. This resulted in the part costing the company less money and it also eliminated the damage of wires getting cut in the installation process.
Hope and resilience are an area where I believe that I can improve the most in. I have a big heart and I am always hoping that thing turn out differently, but it is not at its full potential. There have been days at work where it has been a bad day. We were short on personnel, robots broke down causing downtime, and so forth. Some days I just do not have the resilience to handle all those issues at one time. I need to build up to be able to handle multiple issues at once. Sometimes we cannot control what may or may not happen at work, but it is important to remember to stick with these four factors. We all tend to work harder when we are doing something that we love. If someone does not like what they are doing, then the results would be a poor job performance. I love my job, because there is always something new happening. In quality we handle all the different components to the seat, which means that there is always room for mistakes to happen in different places.
