1. How do the approaches used by Nordam Europe seem to support high performance work, drawing upon the ideas presented in this chapter?
As described in article, the Nordam group is an acknowledged leader in aircraft component manufacturing and repair. There are many big companies as its customers. And The Nordam group is the largest privately held FAA-approved repair station in the world. This factory needs to provide absolute safety for customers, so the company not only needs high-precision parts, and requires skilled workers as well. The Nordam Europe provided extensive training and development programs to their employees. The demand of sustainable training arose as the technology develops. At the same time, staff appraisal will be conducted annually by the company. It includes performance measurement and provides an opportunity to identify training and development needs in line with the company’s business objectives. And every employee wants to be trained by the company. In textbooks, high-performance work is defined as work approaches used to systematically pursue ever-higher levels of overall organization and human performance. The Nordam Europe use training and development of staff to maintain high performance work. And the company not only attaches importance to the training of new employees, but also attaches importance to aging employees. Their human resources department prohibits all age discrimination.

A diverse workforce can also give a company a competitive edge in a global economy by facilitating understanding of other customs, cultures, and marketplace needs.
