So What?

1.  There are many recent trends in the television segment of the market that have been pushing innovation.  One of the biggest is the massive increase in screen quality.  The new 4K and 8K picture displays have 4 to 16 times more pixels than most current HDTV’s.  The new models feature a whopping 2 million pixels.  Just when we thought the quality couldn’t get any more realistic, the technology is pushed even further.  Another big recent trend is the introduction of curved TV displays.  This interesting feature allows a better viewing experience when multiple people are watching from different advantage points in a room.

2.  I believe there has been a recent big emphasis on wearable computing devices due to the ease of use on the go.  Users can easily interact with their device while rushing to work or in any situation where they may not have time to reach into their pocket and open up their cell phone.  The vocal capabilities also allow the user to just speak into the wrist piece to activate different features.

3.  The efficiency of 3D printing is what poses a potential issue to manufacturing.  3D printing users can produce parts very quickly, faster than the normal processing speed of typical manufacturing.  In the future, 3D printing may become the staple for producing parts.

4.  As stated in the previous answer, 3D printers are very efficient tools of creation.  If they were on the market for an inexpensive price, a lot of customers would choose to purchase and use the product.

5.  3D printers are very useful machines, however, they do have their limitations.  Due to their size limitation of 9.9 x 7.8 x 5.9 inches, many objects aren’t able to be printed.  Some typical household items that could be printed are scissors, cups, and forks.

6.  One item that could become a “smart” device is the cup.  Based on the type of liquid inside, the container could keep the liquid hot or cold for an extended period of time.
