4 Problem evaluation

Based on the limited information we have, the team has conducted a preliminary analysis on the problem. Our decades of experience in solving this particular variety of problem and experience accrued over the vast client base has empowered us to solve many problems which would other have cataclysmic effect on the firm. The team has already formed objectives and methods to obtain them.

4.1 Pacify the populace

4.1.1 Reasoning

Nestle consumers and stakeholders need to be notified. Moreover, tests by reputed agencies have confirmed existence of Lead Oxide in the product, so taking responsibility is of paramount importance.

4.1.2 Benefits

  • We must pitch in before competitors can leverage the situation
  • As evidence exists that the mistake was unintentional, consumers will condone the product after a certain period of time.

4.1.3 Measurements

  • Metrics for measurement are used to gauge the effectiveness of the first goal
  • They include impressions ratings on TV, Social Media response on Twitter and Facebook

4.2 Set-up an effective system for product recall

4.2.1 Reasoning

After the first goal of consumer pacification is successful, we must initiate a product recall so show that the problem is being taken earnestly. This strategy was quite effective with our previous FMCG client and prevented shares prices from plummeting.

4.2.2 Benefits

  • Customer want to be cared for and this step places emphasis on it
  • By following this process, we can leverage on the supply chain to mitigate the problem

  • Number of product recalls and customer complaints
  • Consumer and retailer surveys
