Hi! We are Party People and I am Min Gyu Sung the HR manager of the company and today I would like to talk about how the human resources are managed in our company.
So who are we? We are a company that plans, designs, and finally executes from all the small parties to huge festivals. We provide just the right concept and just the right content that the clients ask for. Everything we provide is customizable to satisfy each of our customer’s special needs. In order to do so, we carry out differentiation strategy that is focused on the customization and making everything right about the party.
Our mission is providing diversified and customized festival contents with high - quality music, food and people that no other competitors can offer. Our vision is to become the best platform that presents unforgettable memories to the world. Finally, the mission is splashing vivid colors to plain lives with the happiest memories at the first, the only, and the best place.
Here is how our company works in brief. There are two main experts within the company which are the party stylist and the promotion manager. Party stylists are responsible for communicating with the clients. For example, if CASS the beer company wants us to design a festival, party stylists are the ones who actually interact with the contractor by receiving requests, exchanging ideas and selecting the theme and make detailed proposals. Now, the promotion managers on the other hand communicate with the actual customers who enjoys the final product of our own. So promotion managers are involved in developing advertisements and promoting the event itself.
As a result, our job analysis breaks into two different parts as follows. The main job is the party stylist and the sub job is the promotion manager. Let’s take a deeper look into it.
The job descriptions for the main job and the sub job are clearly divided as well. For the main job which is the party stylist, first step of the task would be planning the party. After finishing the plan here comes the next task which is catering the party and finally the task 3 is party styling. On the other hand, task 1 for promotion managers is to send out the invitations of the party and cast the crews that will be needed on the field. Task 2 is developing advertisements that could attract more customers. Task 3 is managing the press.
We have used KASO tool to establish our job specifications. First the knowledge that is required for the party stylists, which is the main job are as follows. Stylists need to have the basic concepts of parties so that they can really understand what a party is. Second, he or she needs to have knowledge about the trend that could be helpful for designing a party and selecting menus for catering. Third, the knowledge about playing activities are also needed as well in order to provide amusing activities during the party. Next, for the abilities, stylists are required to have sense of decoration because a single light bulb can really change the entire atmosphere of a room by locating it in different places for instance. Also, a stylists should know how to handle space, video, and sound equipment. For example, where to put or even where not to put projectors and speakers because sometimes some spaces are better off when they are left empty. Next for the skills, they should be skilled enough to write up a portfolio, contracting documents and presenting presentations because most of the meetings with clients are going to be consisted with all those. For others, stylists are required to have portfolios, over 2-year college degree, and certification of event planner or party stylists.
