Executive Summary
The Pelican Stores is a chain of female’s apparel stores operating throughout the country. This chain has recently ran a promotion that involve the usage of discount coupons. The transaction is recorded via the type of customer, items sold, net sales of the transaction, the method of payment, and the demographic information of the customer. An interesting information is that the company’s promotional coupons were not sent to regular Pelican Stores customers, so the management considers the sales made to individuals who presents the promotional coupons as sale that wouldn’t have been made. The goal is to understand the interaction between groups and determine the best method to further market the promotion.
