Hello Tracy,

I have put together some recommendations based off the information provided  to increase performance . Based on the information given I will create a performance management plan that will allow the business to increase performance and identify areas of improvement.   Landslide Limosuine is looking to have about 25 employees and bring in 50,000 in annual revune .  The plan needed for their business will have to be a plan that will maximize performance but minimize turn over . Through the plan the goal would be to keep turn over to a minimum of 10% or less . This goal is obtainable, will will just need to look at the information provided and form a plan.

  1. Align the performance management framework to the business strategy

A great asset to performance management plans are the performance appraisals. In general, appraisal serves a twofold purpose: (1) to improve employees’ work performance by helping them realize and use their full potential in carrying out their firms’ missions, and (2) to provide information to employees and managers for use in making work-related decisions (Casico,2014). Appraisals are useful in helping the business make decisions regarding promotions , training , or termination of employment. Although there are other systems to measure the appraisals the management by objective process will be the most beneficial to the business.  The MBO process allows the business to set objectives as well as what the standard will be for both the employee and management. The structure for the system should include immediate supervisors, self appraisals , and customer feedback in order to evaluate performance.  Having the immediate supervisor involved means that you have an individual who is most familiar with the employess performance and they would be able to reward or punish based off the performance. Self apprasials give the the employee the opportunity to be involved in the performance process , by allowing them to rate their job performance. Customer feedback is useful input for employment decisions , such as promotion, transfer and training needs. (Cascio,2014)

2) Organizational Performance Philosophy

Landslide wants to use a performance management system that rewards employes’s for exceeding expectations. They are committed to aligning performance efforts with employess and supervisors to promote  fair system. This effort will motivate the employes’ to perform at their highest level because they have a say in the measures.

3) Job Analysis

According to www.job-anylsis.net, Job Analysis is a process to identify and determine in detail the particular job duties and requirements and the relative importance of these duties for a given jobJob Analysis is a process where judgments are made about data collected on a job.  The analysis will include the type of task needed if one is hired to do the job. Being a chauffer it includes sitting for long periods of time lifting luggage and the ability to drive larger vehicles. The qualifications for this position would have to be experience, licensure, education, and skills. The job description will outline the critical skills needed and address the standards for the position. There would be a rating system used by the hiring manager to see if each candidate meets the standards. The rating system would also identify the entry level as well as the advance level candidates. This allows the manger to hire candidates that can be groomed into the more advanced roles within the company and allows the advanced candidates to have the opportunity to supervise other workers.
