Sampling and Data Collection Plan
As part of a business research plans for Coffee Bucks the author of this paper will develop a sampling plan that can help proof the significant research question “whether there is a relationship or not between weather and sales that affects the supply of coffee beans”. This research focuses in two important variables such as weather and volume of sales. The climate change is one of the most important factors that regulate prices. The coffees’ sale is a dependent variable that increases or decreases based on weather conditions.
The author of this paper considers important to evaluate how temperature changes affects the sales for Coffee Bucks. The researcher will focus on targeting a selected group of 384individuals that are regular customers of Coffee Bucks. The sample will be chosen using a simple random sample method (Cooper, D. R., & Schindler, P.S., 2011). The researcher will be located at the front door of the store and will randomly approach to customers. All the surveyed will be rewarded with a 20% discount on their next visit. The survey will be collected during peak hours taking a sample of 25 costumers each day of the week. Personal information will not be required. The survey is elaborated in a manner of multiple choices answers (see appendix A). The researcher will collect, analyze and compute all data in a excel spreadsheet. The collected data will be saved online in a Google drive folder so that the information is available at anytime and could be open anywhere. The database will be secured with a secret password to guarantee its authenticity. The sample size for the sampling and data collection will be calculated taking a range of confidence interval. For the research questions of Coffee Bucks a 95% confidence level and a 5% margin of error. (See appendix B).
In conclusion, a sample of 384 Coffee Bucks customers will be surveyed to measure independent and dependent variables. The researcher considers that a sampling and data collection is necessary to address the research question. Utilizing a simple random sample method Coffee Bucks will identify customer’s needs and preferences. The author of this paper considers that obtaining and computing a data sample of 384 surveys will address the research question.
