Quad wants to be a Savi Player in Agribusiness
Savi can pitch itself to Quad by focusing on its value proposition it adds to its customers. It can show the advantages of supply chain tracking mechanism like ability to provide real time Conveyance tracking, ability to monitor and measure customer activity, ability to provide Work in progress management so that Quad can service their conveyances, providing the in transit status and location of conveyances so that Quad can decide how to allocate them for reuse. Savi can explain the advantages of using CMS (Conveyances management Systems) in saving costs especially in the areas of Conveyance Loss, by providing details like Conveyance Turn ratio, In-Transit details. Also additional income can be generated by charging the customers based on the Customer Time of Possession.
There are a variety of value propositions Quad can provide to its customers with the help of CMS. For example, by tracking the Conveyances used for transporting their customer’s products they can monitor the Shipment details and can avoid theft or other irregularities. Also for perishable items, they can monitor the conveyance temperature and check if the cold storage chain is maintained properly by the truckers and the warehouses. Another important value proposition Quad can provide its customers the ability to monitor, manage and measure customer activity which can be used as business performance indicators that can be leveraged by their customers.
Savi can propose all these advantages and also answer some of the major concerns of Quad in implementing the CMS systems. Some of them are initial costs to install the network including various hardware and software equipment. Savi can sell itself more by proposing Quad to bear only fraction of the installment costs and later pay for the services provided basis. This can address majority of the cost/return concerns of Quad since they only need to invest fraction of the amount to deploy the network across all their systems and pay only according to the services provided. If they can see the value of the services provided they can continue utilizing the services. This is a win-win situation for both Quad and Savi since this gives Savi a chance to prove that CMS system can add great value proposition when implemented in large scale rather than as a pilot project.
