Team Roles
Introduction
A team is a group of people with complementary skills needed for a joint activity, job, or project. Team members depend on one another in the coordination of the activity. The interdependence is brought about by the fact that each particular member of the group has a specific input towards the achievement of the goal.
Roles of a Team
Members of a team share governance and responsibility for self-administration of the group and are accountable for the output and also the rewards (if any). When mutual dedication becomes a feature of an individual team generating synergy, it seizes being just a collection of people. It becomes a better performing entity whose productivity is excellent than that of its individual members summed up.
The individuals are selected based on their skills, product knowledge, leadership, and reasoning abilities. The overall view of the group on a task is improved by the diversity of its members, and this leads to enhanced accuracy and adaptability. Another role of a team is the promotion of strategic development. The strategies that a team endeavors to implement are discussed and analyzed, and recommendations given. Teams also promote the growth of leadership skills among its members since they are assigned tasks within the group.
Conclusion
The roles of a group are diverse, depending on its scope and purpose. The trend of team formation in the organizational environment has been improving over time and has seen very successful projects spring out of the teams. The most important considerations that should be made when selecting a team include the skills, productivity, technical knowledge, and cohesiveness and the individual selectees.
