Solution

There are 3 solutions suggested to reduce the risk of accident occur, they are:

1. Implement reward system In fact, there are lots of regulations and rule have been taken out by the government, however those rule ineffective to avoid occupational accidents. One of reasons is those regulations would not been enforced in a good manner. For example, the workers would neglect regulation to benefit themselves in order to finish task quicker. We suggest general contractor to implement reward system to encourage worker to follow regulation. Supervisors and peers as checker to check workers follow the regulation or not randomly, after confirmation by checkers, workers can gain 5% of their salary as bonus.

2. Train supervisors to have high safety concern As mention before, worker would only be received safety knowledge when having one day lecture in order to gain "green card", after the lecture, they are no longer to keep those knowledge in mind. Therefore, we suggest contractor to train supervisors to have high safety concern, supervisors can remind and keep asking workers about safety knowledge, such as set up some quiz. It can strengthen worker's knowledge more effectively. Moreover, contractor can provide some safety courses to workers when there are new regulation taken out, it help workers to keep newest regulation in mind.

3. Improve working condition As we all known, the working environment in construction site is hot, uncomfortable and dangerous, totally different to office. Workers need to be concentrate on their work, otherwise they would get hurt. But bad weather and long time working would reduce their concentration. Thus contractor is advised to imitate Bar-Bending Contractors Association to adjust their working hour, for example longer tea break at the afternoon in order to reduce the time work under the hottest period.
