The primary issues for Starbucks are to determine whether the Starbucks is growing in the best way, to determine whether the growth rate is overextending, and to determine how to leverage its brand and size in growing to become the worldwide coffee brand.
Starbucks is a famous speciality coffee producer in the world. There are two categories of coffee industries in the market, one is basic coffee industry, the other is speciality coffee industry. The growing rate of speciality coffee is 15% per year and the competition is drastic in this industry.
This strategic situation analysis and planning of Starbucks is primarily based on the SSAP method which has 11 analysing steps. In this case, this report focuses on the step 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 8, and 11.
