Journal: Pitch one idea for an industry / market space that is ripe for a blue ocean entry?
The single-seat car, automotive industry
Who/what is the market space?
All of the adults who travel alone. (Actually many people are usually driving their cars alone, so many times cars are bigger than required. It consumes more energy and creating traffic congestion problem. (106-million single occupant vehicles in US) The purchase price is very expensive so many people can’t afford to buy a big car especially in developing countries.)
Why is this not currently met?
The biggest concern of the people is safety since they see single-seat cars like motorcycles. They should be convinced that safety tests are done and have great results.
The other concern is that these cars would be still expensive but if mass production starts to be realized, the unit cost would be cheaper.
The last concern of people is that they think they should replace their big cars with these new single-seat cars. But in the advertisements it should be emphasized that these single-seat cars are only supplementary of current cars. The people should continue to own their big cars if they need. But many times they can use single-seat cars to benefit from energy efficiency.
How would you create unique value?
They would have the ability to maneuver through traffic lines. Parking would be easier and use less space than 4 or 5 people space cars. They will have less carbon footprint with high energy efficiency.

Safety engineering should be realized properly before mass production. Traffic regulations should also be changed to support this new trend
