Case: Evergreen Products
The desired outcome for Evergreen is to provide a better performance of its service. The company is trying to reduce the processing time given for any order at any time in any of the sales department. This means, that Evergreen should focus more on its bottleneck. Therefore, the order entry system is working poorly, due to the poor performance of the shop floor.
Costumers expect from Evergreen a quick and quality service, which is not occurring at the moment. The problems that costumers posed to the company are the conflict with the due date. Evergreen always encourages the due date to be in 5 business days, independently on what the costumer is asking for. Therefore, time performance is always an issue for costumers.
In order to improve the order entry process of the company, the time taking to process the order has to be reduced. This means, that the time taken since an order is placed until is ready for delivery should be under half a day. A suggestion could be to make the shop floor planner to place the order and directly include it to the accounting system. This way, the product will be ready for deliver in a much shorter of time. And as there is no errors in the process, the output will be ready quicker and with good quality.
