 This project report on Qarshi Industries Ltd has been written as a part of the course requirement of ‘Business Communication’. First of all, we would like to thank the authorities of Lahore School of Economics who gave us the chance to conduct and compile this research project. Special thanks to our Instructor Ms. Rumessa Naqvi who supported us with her valuable advices and gave us a chance to represent our capabilities. This research report has proved to be a good learning experience. We are thankful to our course instructor for providing us with this opportunity as well as guiding us throughout the course of this research with the light of her experience. This report would not have been possible without the valuable services of the interviewee namely Mr. Salman Khan, National Brand Executive, Qarshi Industries Ltd as he managed to take some quality time out of his busy schedule and facilitated us with his knowledge and experience. His words were a great source of help in carrying out a detailed analysis.

Executive Summary

This report has been compiled to study and analyze the growth of Qarshi Industries Ltd over the past three to five years. The report also covers the main functions of various departments of Qarshi and how they have contributed towards the growth of Qarshi Industries Ltd. Along with these the report also includes the brand preferences of the consumers towards herbal products and also the comparison of two of the most popular Qarshi products i.e. Jam-e-Shirin and Johar Joshanda with their competitors.

Corporate Profile


The Qarshi Industries (Pvt.) Ltd. has been established since 1968 and has now gone to became one of the largest natural and herbal pharmaceutical companies. It was conceptualized 75 years ago by the respected eastern poet Allama Muhammad Iqbal.  Shifa-ul-Mulk Hakim Muhammad Hassan Qarshi was a practitioner of herbal medicine and health supplements who first set up the clinic at Beadon Road in the city of Lahore under name of Qarshi.  The clinic was started with the view to provide the pure and effective medical treatment by the use of herbal medicines. Then in 1968, the youngest son of Shifa-ul-Mulk, Mr.Iqbal Ahmed Qarshi who had done his M.S.C in Chemical Engineering, laid the foundations of Qarshi Dawakhana that has now evolved into Qarshi Industries Ltd which is now the leading manufacturer of Natural Products.
