Ruchi Singh Maurya & Ram Nivash Premikar “Thinking Beyond Money: A More Profound Understanding into Connection between Non-Monetary Incentives, Emotional Intelligence and Employee Motivation” International Journal of Business and Administration Research Review, Vol.3, Issue 11, pp 80

The research is done to study on the link of power or relationship between non-monetary incentives with emotional intelligences and also to clarify about the myths which attribute with non-monetary incentives and employee motivation also to reduce the employee turnover rate. All employers should know what the better incentive is for the employees, which can attract the employees to stay longer within the company. Often happen, even employees who have work in competitive working environment, some of them are still unhappy or demotivated with the employer. It shows that, non-monetary incentives would be helpful to get the employees work in a healthy environment again and motivated in completing their tasks. Study also shows that, money is the primary motivator. But, the power will only last shortly. This is due to some employees might get bored receiving the same incentives from the employer. As from Maslow theory, shows that there is need of esteem and self- actualization need even though the incentives in term of money already fulfill their physiological needs.

From my overview, there is some limitation found in the study conducted. The author is lack in supporting their research with previous study conducted. For example, they might use literature review based from relationship between non-monetary incentives and emotional intelligences. The researcher only support from general point of view. Furthermore, the researcher only provides result based from their own idea or from previous research conducted.

The study might be conducted from different point of view. They might study on the impact of non-monetary incentives towards job satisfaction among employees. In addition, they may also do research from other business services. For example, does it cause any difference of non-monetary incentives from manufacturing company and also service provider company. The researcher also can conduct a survey to support their findings rather than use their own idea or from previous research. This research would be beneficial to the organization who appreciates their employees. They could use it as a guideline for them in order not to reward their employees wrongly which can cause demotivation among the employees.
