Tiffany and Co, 2014 Sustainability Report
- Diamond mining sites are in Canada, Namibia, Botswana, Australia, and Russia, while metal mining is primarily in the United States. (14)
- Tiffany and Co specifically avoids mining in World Heritage Sites, International Union of Conservation of Nature protected sites, Alliance for Zero Extinction Sites, or Key Biodiversity Areas. (14)
- Tiffany and Co has the subsidiary Laurelton Diamonds, which was integrated into the company in 2002. 100% of their diamonds are traceable to a known mine or known supplier with known mines. (19-20)
- The company attempts to maintain fare wages, although it is interesting to note that many of the primary diamond cutting and polishing sites are not the same as the mining sites. The polishing and cutting sites are in Belgium, Botswana, Namibia, Mauritius, Vietnam, and Cambodia. (23)
