The Triennale of Milan, founded in 1999 , is a cultural institution which aims to « perform and promote activities of research, documentation and exhibition, both sectorial and inter-disciplinary, of national and international importance, with particular emphasis on the sectors of architecture, town-planning, decorative and visual arts, design, handicrafts, industrial production, fashion, audio-visual communication and other artistic and creative expressions referring to such » It arranges an exhibition every three years and is distinguished by its constant search for innovative lines and trends in the different areas of expertise. In particular, Triennale directs its activities in favour of the "design culture" and promotes growth at an ever broader range of exhibitions, conferences, debates and comparisons of international experience.
Starting from history of the organization, the report then explains the external analysis where Porter’s 5 forces analysis is applied. The next part is the internal analysis, which deals with the organization structure, its strategic location and range of products it offers.

BRIEF HISTORY OF TRIENNALE
The Triennale of Milano was established in 1923 in Monza as the First Biennial of decorative arts with the purpose of stimulating the relationship between industry, the manufacturing sectors and applied arts. After changing from Biennial to Triennial in 1929, the organization moved its venue to the Palazzo dell'Arte in Milan in 1933, which was conceived by the architect as an extremely flexible and highly innovative container with its multifunctional structure.
