Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam is a Sanskrit phrase found in Hindu texts such as the Maha Upanishad, which means "the world is one family".
Women is worshipped and respected in form of Goddess, Mother, Sister and spouse.
We celebrate festivals like Holi, Diwali, Eid and Christmas together with no religious discrimination and tolerance to religious diversity.
I was born in a nation which is the biggest democracy and diversity in the world and respects all the religions and people equally not only by constitution but by my religion as suggested above.
Therefore, I was never exposed to the term called color, ethnicity and gender inequality.
However, I was born at a place and at a time when I had no exposure to the outside world and family with humble/modest background.
I was taught how to respect people, help people, collaborate with people and work hard with highest ethics both by religious books as well as history in my school and family.
One thing no one taught me was to dream big and I dreamed big and being independent. I came to United States a country which is known as land of dreams and I can attest to that it’s a land of dreams, it gave me opportunity and resources for the life that I always wanted in a life being more independent, a career that is ever progressing and supportive spouse and family which someone can only dream.
I married to women who has different religion, color and values than mine by birth which is a blessing as we get to know what is beyond our perceived understanding and a mindset to respect other individuals. We both decided to make United States as our “Home” and believe that now it’s our turn to give back and grow this country by the best we have to offer.
