INTRODUCTION

E-commerce has become a vital part of modern consumerism and is essential for consumer and business interactions. Small and medium businesses are especially encouraged to embrace this new method of doing business. E-commerce is not only more convenient for the new age consumer but also gives businesses the freedom to set up the sales channels according to their preferences. Direct sales channels like websites and cellar doors in the wine industry get rid of the middlemen giving a fighting chance to small and medium business to grow as well as make a respectable profit.

Millennials, those consumers aged 18 to 34, remain the key age demographic for online commerce, spending more money online in a given year than any other age group. (C.Smith, 2014). So in-order to appeal to this particular demographic the e-commerce websites need to be more attractive now more than ever, during the course of this paper we are going to look at a website of a medium sized winery and examine the positive and negative traits of the same.

OVERVIEW

The website I have chosen for this assignment belongs to the Bremerton Winery. The winery has been family owned since its conception in 1988. The winery is a medium sized business with a production of about 34,000 cases each year depending on that year’s vintage and harvest.

I chose this particular website as it was instantly appealing as well as had an intriguing story line. The winery is situated in Langhorne Creek, located in a prominent wine region and close to some major cities, which only adds to its popularity.

During the course of this website review we will look at various aspects of what makes a website more desirable to consumers and will also look at how easy it is to make a safe purchase from the site. We look at the overall attractiveness of the website and the brand clarity as well as how engaging the website would be to their customers among some of the topics.
