Question 1: Why is the CRM system so unpopular with Amagansett’s wholesales?

ANS: Firstly, the detail that is required by the CRM system is too much and the timing for input is every Friday, wholesales can hardly input the complete information in the system. Additionally, it is no fun for recording data into CRM system and cost too much time, which makes the wholesales were reluctant to do it.

Secondly, as the wholesales didn’t input correct or enough data into the CRM system, when they were trying to look up the customer information in the system, they would always got disappointed.

Thirdly, the wholesales could only use their heavy laptop to access the CRM system. However, when they went out to visit the customers and were not willing to bring such a heavy PC, which restricted them to use the CRM system.

Question 2: What did Amagansett hope to gain with its CRM system? What were the system’s intended benefits? Who were the prime beneficiaries?

ANS: Amagansett hope the CRM system can let a company keep track of past contacts with its customers and plan future ones. So that the wholesales can easily get known their customers very well and increase the sales.

The system could do many things, from supporting call centers to planning direct marketing campaigns. If the data of the CRM systems were all correct and sufficient, the sales managers could keep track of what wholesales were doing and make sure that each customer was appropriately served.

The wholesales were the prime beneficiaries, if the CRM system is good enough. The data of CRM system is very important to the Amagansett and it is the treasure of this company. However, it is the wholesales, who would make full use of the data to improve their work. The managers and even the president of Amagansett were just using it to see the wholesales’ behavior and giving them some advices. So the wholesalers were the prime beneficiaries.
