Being in the relatively new social gaming industry and with Zynga being the dominant company in the market, there is plenty of opportunities for Zynga in the next few years. Zynga has also spelt out its plan for growth in the near future with several plans. Its series of plans are set on retaining existing players, attracting new players, converting non-paying players to paying players and increasing the revenue per player.

Firstly, Zynga plans to enhance its popular, market-leading franchises including CityVille, FarmVille, FrontierVille, Words with Friends and Zynga Poker by constantly updating the game with new contents and features. It also plans to launch new games to expand the genre they offer to further engage their existing players and attract new players.

At the same time, with the growing market of smartphones and various mobile platforms (like the iPad), Zynga plans to increase its reach by devoting more resources to developing its games for mobile platforms. Efforts will be made to acquire mobile development technologies, talent and content.

On the international level, Zynga plans to adopt more localised strategies for different geographical markets. This would be done by developing games in multiple languages, making their content more localised to the different regions, and offering more payment options. Also, Zynga will seek to partner with leading international social networking sites and mobile platforms, which will also help to extend their distribution channels.

Focussing on one of the most important aspects of Zynga’s business, they will continually seek to innovate and improve on their existing network infrastructure and systems. These investments will ensure that they maintain their technological leadership in the social gaming industry.

Another drawing factor for Zynga’s games is that players are able to purchase virtual goods to enhance their playing experience. Therefore, Zynga hopes to increase revenue
