I, as a client, expect that the lawyer does a lot to win my case. I want them to do everything it takes, because I paid a lot for the lawyer and I do not like to waste my money. So if my expectations do not come true, I will not be satisfied and lawyers do not want unsatisfied clients because they will be known as bad lawyers when this happens. That is why I prefer the transactional leadership. Because, when the lawyer receives a bonus for winning my case, he will probably be more focused on my case. Because when they are more focused, they have a higher chance of winning the case, and when they win the case, they will get more money and they obviously will like this and me, as the client, as well. I want the lawyer to do everything he can to win my case. Also, when they did everything they can, there is a higher chance of losing the case, which will cost them money. So, the lawyer will do much more when there is a nice bonus.
Secondly, with the transactional leadership style, there is a degree of certainty to the relationship. The leader of the lawyer must clarify what is expected with clear goals and objectives. The lawyer must be clear about what needs to be accomplished and which methods they are going to use for accomplishing their goals. When everything is so well prepared, I will know exactly what is going to happen. I know how they are going to work on my case and how they try to win my case. If I do not agree with one of the methods, I can tell the lawyer what I do want. So, if everything is clear from the beginning, I do not have to worry about what is going to happen.
