EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

In this introduction of academic English assignment, the purpose is to identify the factor that cause ESL learner of code switch and how to overcome it. Another topic is discussing college and universities allow students to bring cell phones to classrooms.

        In the first task of this academic English, I have to explain the factor that cause ESL learner of code switch and how to overcome it. I have do some research about the factor that is about the meaning of code switching. And through research to explain how to overcome the ESL learner of code switch. Most of the people are using their mother language communicate with friends or family. Simple communication can enable them to get to know their instructor and classmates on a deep, rather than just a superficial, level. Sometimes using first language in class, and even are doing translation exercise once in a while. Read some sentences in student language and have student translate it.

        For the task 2, I have to explain college and universities should not be allowed students to bring cell phone to classrooms. Cell phone is a good for education. Students can use cell phones to research purposes. But some teacher will not agree students to bring cell phone to classroom. Student need to get their same act in classroom and pay attention to the teacher that is there. Here have some good features of phones that are good for student: calculator, stop watch, dictionary and many. Students can always search on the Internet for the circumscription if can connect internet.

English is the most important language around the world. It is widely spoken across the globe, even on the internet. Entire school, college or tuition’s teacher also use this language to teach student. English is the leading language is the world and main language in most country.

After do the online surveys, the English have more than a total of 250,000 words in the dictionary. That mostly restaurant also use the English to set the restaurant menu. For example Starbuck, coffee shop, and some restaurant. In addition, some restaurant’s waiter uses the English to serve their customers.

ESL is the meaning as English as a second language. Most of the people are using their mother language communicate with friends or family. And code switching is the practice of moving between variations of languages in different contexts. Everyone has learned to code-switch depending on the setting and situation. In an educational context, code-switching is defined as the practice of switching between the primary and the secondary language. Some scholars of literature use the term 'code switching' to describe literary styles which include some elements from more than one language, as in novels by Anglo-Indian and Chinese-American.
