Personal position

My views on this issue is that United States must invest in alternative sources of energy like wind turbines and solar power.

I strongly hold an opinion that United States should decrease its dependence on oil and start investing in alternative resources of energy. It would be a viable decision to invest money and turn towards wind or solar power. United States can easily use wind power to generate electricity which will be much more easier and less costlier when compared with p[production of electricity from producing ethanol from corn. This means that United States should invest in wind power as it also have the potential to create more jobs in the U.S by employing more farmers for the wind farms.

Perceptual blocks and habits that hinder thinking

On the other hand, another thought that hinders the ways when looking at the opposing view is that using more natural resources and tapping into unexplored areas within the country would take more time and money. There are many questions that arises, like that happens if we explored these areas, spend money and time but found nothing. We would be just wasting our time and money. Another point is, if we manage to get success and find resources then it would be adding to the depletion of natural resources. I suggest that we should go with the wind, that is not depleting. Dependence on wind will definitely reduce our dependence on oil, electricity, gas.
