A conclusion is when you come to the final result or something, whether is being after a final thought
or after research had been attained.
2) What is the conclusion of each article?
The conclusion for “Common Core” is difficult to say. Alabama’s conclusion is they are trying to defend Common Core. But the rest of the article gave many different opinions.
The conclusion to “The Battle Against Common Core Standards” is that they should not change the common core standards.
3) Define the term premises.
A premise is part of an argument that is put forward for consideration. If you believe that the
premises is true then you must believe that the arguments conclusion is true.
4) What premises support the conclusions in each article?
The premises of “Common Core” support the conclusion because their superintendent “Tommy Bice have had to defend the standards from those who say anything to do with Common Core amounts to a federal takeover of schools and is not good for students.”
The premises of “The Battle Against Common Core Standards” supports the conclusion because is states that “the Common Core cheapens our children’s education and further erodes the nation’s tradition of Federalism”(Smith, 2013)
