Que1. Why growth of nationalism is linked to an anti colonial movement?
The growth of national ism in the colonies is intimately connected to the anti colonial movement in India just like in any other country. In this struggle,people started discovering their unity. Each class or group of people felt that they were being oppressed under colonialism.
Que2. How the First World War helped in the growth of national movement in India?
A new political and economical situation was created by war. The prices of all commodities went up. Common people had to face more problems. Villagers were called upon to supply soldiers. Fearful recruitment in rural areas became the cause of widespread anger.
Que3. Why Indians were outraged by Rowlatt Act ?
It was passed in 1919 . It authorised the government to imprison people without trail. Gandhi ji was strongly opposed to this act. He argued that it was not right to frame such a legislation for whole of India because it could cause the political crimes. This also happened in few places .there were a few among Indian leaders on the opposition of rowlatt bills. It led to a cause of popular struggle.
The government adopt the repressive measures to stop this .
