Interview with Employees of Afghan Asia Construction company on Relationship of four Dependent Variables (Productivity, Turnover, Absenteeism and Job satisfaction) with three independent variables (Age, Gender, Tenure)
- Age
- Age Vs Productivity
As final result of interview, to be productive in manufacturing workers need more physical strength, dexterity and agility (which tend to decline with age) than experience and ability to work in a team (which tend to increase with age). But in the service sector, experience and the ability to work in a team are key, so the growth in productivity with age may be even larger.
- Age Vs Turnover
Relation of age and turnover is not easy to understand, most of the people say there is no relation between age and turnover and a group of other say that turnover is more between young employees because they are new to work environment and still they are after building their careers,
Another Group ideally think that the turnover between lower positions in the organization is more than in higher position.
Another thought I’ve noted is that employees with more tenure and less education has the minimum percentage of turnover rather than those who has education advantage, the reason Educated people are more demanded in the market where the less educated people rarely found a suitable job.
- Age Vs Absenteeism
According to my personal research the Ratio of Absenteeism is equal in both mature and young people because young employees has more percentage of volunteer absenteeism where mature people has the high percentage of unvolunteer absenteeism because mature people face is many issues that prevent them to be present in their jobs where volunteer absenteeism is common between young people.
What management suggests is that it’s easy and possible to change the behavior or young people and decrease the absenteeism percentage of them but with aged people it’s impossible because of certain issues. Therefore it’s suggested to hire young people in daily operational tasks and mature people are an asset for decisional and authoritative positions.
- Age Vs Job Satisfaction
Job Satisfaction is more among mature people and it’s less in young employees because personally young employees are new to the society and they have lots of unfulfilled needs and wants where the mature people has already fulfilled their basic needs and wants and the wages or payment is more for mature people because of their longer experience and education.
- Gender
- Gender Vs Productivity
The comparison of productivity between men and women are dependent to the work environment, men workers of Farms, Armies and other heavy duties are more productive than women where the percentage of productivity is blue collar companies or service providers is much higher in females.
