Macbeth Theme Essay!

The Tragedy of Macbeth was written by William Shakespeare. Macbeth is a tragedy about this married man who meets these three witches who give him advice about his future and how to handle the things he has done. His wife, Lady Macbeth, convinces him to kill the king so they could become king and queen of Scotland. Well after he has killed the king he sees that things arn't as planned and tries to make it all better by killing more people. People that who have helped him in the past but now knows a secret that cant get out. In the end things go terribly wrong for Macbeth and Lady Macbeth but hey the theme is "Fair is foul, and foul is fair." Meaning if you do something wrong to get what you want and it turns out then its fair, but if it dont turn out all, well its still fair. Fair ain't always whats right anyways. The theme shows up alot in many different parts of the book in characters, qoutes, and key events.

The Witches are the ones who introduce the theme in the first Act, but Macbeth, as the main character, plays a major role in carrying out the theme through the book. "This supernatural soliciting Cannot be ill, cannot be good. If ill, Why hath it given me earest of success, Commencing in a truth?" This quote is saying "it is too good to be true but then why is it happening?". Macbeth later on starts to see Banqous ghost at the Banquet and Macbeth is in shock and says, "Take any shape but that, and my firm nerves Shall never tremble. or be alive again, And dare me to the desert with thy sword... Why, so: being gone, I am a man again." He fears that Banquo has come back to haunt him and thought for a second that he was actually alive and that he came to tell everyone, that was gathered there for the death of Banquo, the truth. Macbeth said that he rather be in a lonely place than live through that
