My Favourite Teacher

A teacher I admire greatly is none other than the much-feared discipline mistress of Brook South Secondary, Miss Abraham. One look at her and many will get the idea of a strict and scary lady whose job is punishing students who break the rules. This is partly true, but there is another side of her, behind that powerful and fierce look. She has a softer side, mingled with determination and love for the students.
Miss Abraham is an Indian lady with large, deep-set eyes and long curls that fall softly over her shoulders. Her skin is tanned and her lips are full and luscious. She has a sharp nose that works with her eyes, seeming to sniff out a rule-breaker about a mile away. Her voice is high and shrill, but an occasional laugh is a treat for us, students. She usually wears a long flowing dress with a scarf around her neck. She puts on heavy make up, which surprisingly, suits her well.
Miss Abraham is up on stage everyday of the week, nagging at us about one thing of another. She does not really care how the students see her. All she cares is getting her words of advice across to the school. Despite being called of all sorts of names, she manages to shrug them off and does the things the things the way she ought to do so.
Most students will see her as a very stern lady with no sense of humour. In truth, she does crack jokes at times, and share in the fun with us students. She dotes on her prefects but treats the rest of the students equally, not showing favouritism. Always stressing that every one of us can be good students, she shows belief in us.
Several times, many of us have let her down. Although, she shrieks at us and seems to think we are hopeless, she never gives up, especially on the ‘regular rule-breakers’. Instead, she strives on, not caring how many students dislike her, emphasising the need for discipline.
