It was not until I was a junior in high school that I realized that maybe not all bad guys are really bad. Sometimes the bad guy is just doing what he thinks is best. It is possible to come up with a plan and that one thinks will work without having negative effects, but when the plan is put into action unforeseen variables happen causing the ethicality of the plan to deteriorate. The father is trying to protect his daughter and alert the nation to corruption within the CIA by kidnapping kids of high ranking parents and ransoming the kids for tasks that the parents perform. His plan would have worked without lose of life but police got to close, causing him to stall them with a cyber attack from a parent. The parent, however, felt guilty for the loss of life from the attack and stopped the virus. However, this caused the father to feel that he must make and example by killing a hostage. Either he went about it the wrong way or maybe it was the only way possible, but that way is just not clean and good. His intentions were good, but his actions caused much pain and heartbreak. However, the road to hell is paved with good intentions. Not all villains are evil and not all heroes are pure.
