Othello
After reading the play I have decided to analyze Othello because he somehow reminds me of who I am and how my friends see me. Othello plays the protagonist and mighty hero. He is the highly state of being admired general of all the armies of Venice. He is not a native of Venice but a North American or Moor. Othello was respected by everyone he came across good or bad but in others eyes he was seen as a hero. Before the play began Othello and Desdemona are secretly married. Lag is jealous of Othello, he dislikes the fact that Othello is way better than him and hates that he will always have power over him. Othello is ranked way higher than him. Who would not like to have power over someone. In today society everyone is ranked higher than someone and everyone has power over someone for examples teachers having power over students, principle having power over everyone and parents having power over their kids and grand kids. Lago does not believe Desdemona could every love someone such as Othello, nevertheless, she loves him with all her heart and soul. Lago says " I hate the Moor:
And it is thought abroad, that 'twixt my sheets, He has done my office: I know not it be true; But I, for mere suspicion in that kind, Will do as if for surety. (1.3.12). First lago says he hates "the moor" because they passed him a promotion, yet in this quote he states that he hates him because rumors having been going around that Othello has been hooking up with his wife, Emilia, "twist lagos sheets". Lago wasn't sure if the rumors were true but he didn't care if it was or wasn't he still wanted to mess up his life. Othello does not care what others think of him which is why he never really felt threaten by lago even though lago was trying to ruin his life. The exhibition or fair of these two basic principles of the play is set forth by the dramatist with his ordinary way of being free from clouds, and at significant amount of time, but has nonetheless leaked out the public sign of the fault-finder, or has been reduced as a factor in the ascription of particular meaning.
