Punctuations are marks used to divide a piece of writing into sentences phrases and more. The following are some of the punctuation marks.
1. Comma mark
2. Question mark
3. Full stop mark
4. Quotations mark
5. Exclamation mark
Full stop mark (.) it is used to end declarative sentences and statements every sentence contains a full stop in it. Examples of how a full stop is used.
I. Yes was a fantastic day.
II. Mzumbe is one of the best universities in Tanzania.
III. It is absolutely inspirational the way employees here work together.
Comma mark (,) it is a slight break between different parts of the sentence, they make the meaning of sentences clear by grouping and separating words phrases and clauses. Commas are used in such case
a) In lists
b) In direct speech
c) To separate clauses
d) To make off certain parts of a sentence
Examples of how a comma is used.
I. Diana loves to travel, she visits America at least once a year.
II. Jackie washed some clothes for Gift, Hamza, Emmanuel and Salaam.
III. A police man has to be able to work at night, at weekends and on holidays.
Question mark (?) it is used at the end of the sentence in terms of a question, at the end of a direct question. Examples of how it is used.
