I believe self values are important each one of us have more than one. Values such as family, religion and friends shape the way we are. Born in a family of 4 while growing up I received so much personal support from my brother and two sisters. I was happy. Personally I would’ve never thought a Dog would make the top list. You see I’ve never did love dogs or any animals in the matter all throughout my young years. Let me explain in the beginning fearing dogs became an underwhelming sense of nature for me due to remembering a moment of my life. But That all changed 6 years ago. Today I would explain why I value my first pet on how he changed my life for the better.
I was 8 years old when my fear started. carefree, exited, and relaxed I went to the park with my parents and siblings located in north Chicago called Greenbelt Forest Preserve. Thrilled to seek the sound of nature I couldn’t wait. Suddenly while the day is at is usual something un expectly happen. While walking I felt a tug at my shirt as I turned a saw a huge dog he was biting my sleeve pulling me toward him. Until I felt to the ground I called for “help” Instantly the dog owner and my parents came. when I stood up crying I began to mutter to myself “I would no longer do anything with animals at all”. I never did fulfill my promise. Striving to overcome my fear I first met my first dog at the age of 17. First meeting him in the living floor I felt timid but I knew instantly he was as much afraid as I was. It took some time but he greatly helped me conquered my fear and helped me be true to who I am.
While my dog chuck taught me not to be afraid he also gave me a different view on the meaning of life.
Obviously dog years are different from human years. So in particular my faithful friend Life is short. I live it everyday to the fullest with him. With chuck at my side experiencing different places makes it interesting and fun. As time passes he is still energetic and I feel closer to him than ever.
Always looking forward to a lifetime of unforgettable memories I feel blessed.
Now and forever I will continue to adore my dog, he may not know this but I greatly cherish his companionship. When am sick, alone, or depress his always trying to cheer me up. Surprisingly Today I can say this with confidence I Truly can’t imagine my life without him.
