Cyber-bullying has spread widely among youth, with 42% reporting that they have been victims, according to a 2010 CBS News report
Nucleus Research reported that Facebook shaves 1.5% off office productivity while Morse claimed that British companies lost 2.2 billion a year to the social phenomenon.
Laws such as section 127 of the Communications Act 2003, the Protection from Harassment Act 1997 and the Malicious Communications Act 1988, why do these exist? My point proven, these laws would not have to be enforced if social media sites weren’t so damaging
We being humans, you think we use social media for good? Then take a look at the leading terrorist groups like Al – Kaeda, ISIS and Taliban, how do they recruit and influence the society? Through social media. For an instance, 5500 twitter accounts related to ISIS were shut down by the anonymous hacking group. So, do you still encourage the use of social media as positive?
And do I even have to mention cyberbullying? How many of those teenagers commit suicide, feel threatened and insecure ‘cause of what cyberbullying has done to them?
As well as the access to abusive contents. That’s like the new development. “watching a kid get beaten up” or “ultimate girl fights” Is it because we use it the right way?
Oh yes, you sit with an electronic device till your butt gets numb, where’s the time in the world for you to go socialize with people in the real world?
Please don’t tell me that our community is good at using things for the right purpose. The evidence I have provided above proves it wrong.
The society today is so wretched that their self esteem depends on the number of likes they get. Are we that pathetic or have we become that pathetic?
I almost forgot, gentlemen, enjoy social media and remember NSA is watching your moves. Sublimed kids like you make things easier for them. As a proven fact said by the former CIA agent Edward Snowden, NSA has been spying on citizens via internet use. For an instance on google settings why does google show traced locations of where you have visited, do you really think they capture this data to be left as it is?
So I kindly ask my dear opponents to rest their case. I hope that we have proven enough for the judges. Thank you!
