In Susan Griffin’s essay “Our Secret,” she compares and contrasts cellular life and V-1 rocket within her essay. Griffin applies these ideas collectively with characters to assist elucidate vividly causes and effects in the essay. She surrogates from the cell’s responsibilities to the timelines of weaponry via the essay. In both her concepts, she begins at the elementary height, with a cell’s lifecycle and addresses how they advance. The essay will highlight how Griffin applies both V-1 rocket and cellular life to the lives of characters. Griffins commences “Our Secret” by evaluating the way a nucleus of a cell is sourced and the definition of it. Griffins says “like the stone in a cherry, it is found in the Centre of the cell and like this stone, keeps its precious kernel in a shell” (Griffins, 3). This words form the foundation of cellular structure. Susan compares these notions to the relationships that are articulated in “Our Secret” essay.

Acknowledging that this “Our Secret” essay contains numerous topics that Griffins writes on, can paint this literary piece as confusing. However, recognizing that this subjects will be tied together in a certain mode, makes “Our Secret” essay more comprehensive. As expounded, the V-1 rockets can be described as probably destructive, sophisticated, sends images of strength, and outcome impulsive. Furthermore, to apply an illustration the fragments, one can see that V-1 rockets have a target which showcases in some modes every fragment can associate to torture, human nature, cause and effect.

The cells that contain DNAs and RNAs and that ultimately evolve into human are uncontrollable. In addition, weaponry begins the development of a V-1 missile. The V-1 missile seemed sophisticated since it could not controlled due to its programmed mechanism. After the decline of the war, there was no action that could be implemented to halt the battle. Uncontrollable V- rockets meant that the battle would be continuous forever.

Bordo appropriately gazes that the male body is presently for consumption in the media preferably advertising. Previously, it restricted on only representation of the female models. This change has been closely linked with the dynamic fashion industry that has shaped opinions about absorbing the male model body in the mainstream society. Nevertheless, advertising defines men in photo shoots that were viewed for exclusively female in the past. Additionally, the fashion, television and film industry have defied odds on what is tolerable in respect to the semi-naked males in the advertisements.
