Technique of hand washing
Purpose
Hand washing or hand sanitization is the act of washing hands with or without the use of water or alternative solution, or with the use of cleanser for eliminating microorganisms or any grease. The reason for washing hands in the healthcare setting is to reduce contagious infection within the hospital.

Introduction
The common mode microbe’s spreads are through hands. Microbes are mostly risk-free. However, they can trigger infections like flus, influenza, and tummy infections. Washing hand under warm running water is the best way to keep our surrounding people safe, and infection free. As we all know germs are not visible, but they are everywhere. The quickest way to stop spreading this unwanted germs are by keeping our hands clean. One dirty hand spreads germs everywhere, and it sticks whatever we touch from railings to knobs. It is said that washing our hands five times a day helps to protect us and our neighboring people from cold, flu, and other contagious infection.

Hand Sanitizer
Method to wash hands with water: Duration 40-60 seconds
- Firstly, wet hands with water
- Apply soap on your hand
- Scrub hands palm to palm
- Scrub right palm above left dorsum with interweaved finger. Likewise, repeat it on other hand
- Circling cleansing of left thumb clutched in right palm. Likewise, reverse the process
- Rotational rubbing, backwards, and forward with clutched fingers of right hand in left palm. Likewise, reverse the process
- Wash hand with water
- Dry hand carefully with one towel
- Use wipe to turn off tap
- Hands are unsoiled, and harmless
Note: In order to inspire ourselves, and kids to wash hand properly and keep track of it sing “A to Z” or “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star” rhyme.

Method to rub hands with sanitizer: Duration 20-30 seconds
- Initially, spread a handful of sanitizer on hand
- Scrub hands palm to palm
- Scrub right palm above left dorsum with interweaved finger. Likewise, repeat it on other hand
- Rotating scrubbing of left thumb clutched in right palm. Likewise, reverse the process
- Rotational rubbing, backwards, and forward with clutched fingers of right hand in left palm. Likewise, reverse the process
- Rub until the hands are dry. Once dry, hands are clean and harmless
Note: Wash hands with water and soap, whenever any visible dirt or soils are seen on our hands.

Conclusion
Each individual must wash their hand if they are dirty, and harmful. One can prevent so many contagious diseases from spreading by just simply washing their hands. It is a healthy habit, and looking at our habit kids will be more inspired to wash their hands too. The best websites to visit are WHO and CDC where we could get accurate and precise information pertaining to health and hygiene.
