The Storm
This unexpected night of chaos started around two thirty on a warm and humid late summer night in august. Like any other person, I was relaxing in my bed watching TV, exhausted from the two a days of football practice. As I slowly fell asleep engaging into a deep dream, I was suddenly awaken by that dead silent but obvious unconscious alert that something was about to happen. Looking at the TV turned off; I glanced around my pitch black room, so dark I felt as if someone had placed me into a hole so deep, deeper than the earth's surface. Just as my eyes were finally adjusting and I had settled down, it began. First was a flash that lit up everything inside and outside my window directly followed by an incredibly loud crash. As my mom prepares us a desert from the kitchen, I breathe in the sweet smell of the sweet potato pie that send chills down my body making my stomach hungry. As I am enjoying the laughter from my family, I suddenly get a strange feeling from the tree outside of my window. I quickly unwrap the comfortable blanket and walked towards the window pressing my hand and forehead against the glass looking to see anything. But all I sighted was the tree swaying back and forth with a big lean. As I continued to stare out the window I realized that in a matter of minutes, something was coming.
Suddenly, the power turns off in my house and everybody starts to panic. As I look around, all I could see was the blackness that crept into my eyes, and I could only hear the forceful
